| Shockey Ok with trade talks Jeremy Shockey hasnt formally demanded a trade from the Giants, but has made it very clear he wouldnt be upset if a trade happened. The Giants arent actively shopping Shockey, but have indicated that they would listen to offers. Shockey doesn't like the role he plays in the Giants offense, being used more as a blocking tight end more than he would like. He knows his best year was his rookie year (74 catches 894 yards) when Sean Payton was offensive coordinator. The Saints are the team he has indicated he would be interested in going to. Shockey is also worried about the perception that the Giants season turned when he was hurt, and is worried if the Giants season would go wrong this year, he would be blamed. There are members of the Giants organization who agree that his on-field antics are a distraction and it is no coincidence that Eli Manning improved after Shockey was hurt in Week 15. | Re: Shockey Ok with trade talks Which is exactly why he should be traded. Immediately. They didn't need his physical talents to win the Super Bowl, and they certainly don't need his ego and on-field antics. You can easily start Boss, draft a tight end like Carlson in the second round, and be better off.

He needs a strong quarterback who isnt going to put up with his baloney and tell him to shut up in the huddle. |

| Re: Shockey Ok with trade talks Nows the time to trade him when his value is high. It looks like his stats are on the decline so I wouldn't wait. Time to make a decision on this. Carlson would make a fine pick, Boss is good and the secondary needs to be worked on along with some linebackers and possibly an offensive lineman. If Shockey would trade for some picks we can really start to make the Giants a 14-2 team built for the present as well as having a bright future.

| Re: Shockey Ok with trade talks It appears more and more to me that Shockey wants to be a receiving TE more and more. I don't know whether the Giants would proactively deal with a potential problem by dealing him this week or keep him and use him as they always have. Hopefully one way or another, they can work out their issues now and keep them from effecting the team during the year. |

| Re: Shockey Ok with trade talks "Could Jeremy Shockey be the answer to the Seahawks' need for a tight end? No, the club said Wednesday, after the New York Daily News reported that the Seahawks are among the teams interesting in trading for the Giants' disgruntled tight end. The Seahawks quickly dismissed the report, saying they have no serious interest in the four-time Pro Bowler"
