| Antonio Pierce Charged with Pit Bull Neglect Prefacing this....there aren't many details. All that's reported is this has NOTHING TO DO WITH DOGFIGHTING or anything as serious like that. Giants linebacker charged with neglecting pit bull -- Newsday.com Supposedly, days before the Super Bowl, one of his two pit bulls (both escaped from an enclosed area) was found to be "underweight and suffering from a respiratory illness." Pierce was given a summons and may be given a fine. I recall Pierce was making the rounds during the Vick-saga and talking about how he use to breed Pit Bulls and how he made sure they were all taken well care of and he only gave them away to good people. So I won't rush to judgment here. |

| Re: Antonio Pierce Charged with Pit Bull Neglect Negligence when dealing with animals is even more cruel than dogfighting in many instances. I have worked with dogs my entire adult life, so I know what I am talking about here. I have seen way too many cases of underweight canines, and it is shocking. Pierce should be ashamed of himself if this is one of his dogs in this shape. These pro athletes with pitbulls is a disturbing trend, especially when they can't take care of them on a milionaire's salary.

| Re: Antonio Pierce Charged with Pit Bull Neglect I am a dog person. I can't stand to hear about dogs being mistreated. It makes me want to take them all in, but I can't. With the salaries these guys make, couldn't they hire somebody to at least feed them? |
