That is one of the questions facing the New York Giants off-season according to the
NY Daily News.
Reportedly, Umenyiora feels underpaid and that could become more of an issue in light of the big deal Justin Tuck signed several weeks back.
"This could turn out to be Reese's biggest headache. Two years ago, Umenyiora signed a six-year, $41 million contract. Soon after, he switched agents - joining Strahan on Tony Agnone's team - and word began trickling around the league that he was going to sit out training camp last year.
He didn't. But don't be surprised if he threatens to sit out this year, especially now that Tuck got a five-year, $30 million deal with more guaranteed money ($16 million) than Umenyiora got ($14 million). Prices for defensive players, and especially defensive ends, just keep rising. Umenyiora, according to a source close to the Giants' lone Pro Bowler, feels vastly underpaid.
Asked last summer about the potential for a holdout, Umenyiora didn't dismiss the idea. All he said was, "I don't want to talk about that right now." The time, though, may be coming very soon."
