Re: Shockey trade rumors Shockey's not going anywhere despite the fact that Eli plays better without him in his face whining that he's not getting the ball enough. The Giants brass aren't the type to just let him go for a draft pick, unfortunately.

Re: Shockey trade rumors 1. He's ALWAYS hurt 2. Is a distraction for the team 3. Drops more passes than he catches 4. Free up cap room/too expensive 5. Boss works better with the offense 6. Still need secondary help rather than an injury prone, big mouthed tight end and could use a pick for that purpose

Re: Shockey trade rumors 1. Although Shockey is usually dinged up, he has only missed four regular season games over the past three seasons. 2. I don't think it's proven that he's a distraction for the team. IMO, it may be that this side is blown up by the media. 3. Yep, he does drop more passes than anyone would like. But whenever he catches one, he's always a risk to break it open. Whenever he makes a catch, he fires up the crowd (if at home) and the team. 4. Shockey's not too expensive. I think his cap number is just below $3 million. It's not like the Giants are struggling to free cap space. I'm just of the belief that Shockey is still a top playmaker in the league, plus he's a good blocker. When the 08 season gets underway, he'll be as hungry as ever to win.

Re: Shockey trade rumors LOL, how was Shockey suppose to play with a broken leg? You have me there about big plays this year. I can remember certain small plays where he popped the crowd...but nothing that sticks out. I'd have a tough time letting go of such a great weapon.
