Re: Mercury Morris Tears Up for Giants Win

Even if someone else does get the 19-0, at least your team was the 1st to do it

I hope this doesn't shock you and I hope your math teacher doesn't see your post my friend but there is a difference between 17-0 and 19-0. It has been a while since I was in school but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

I remember walking 5 miles to school both ways, in the winter, with no shoes carrying my little brother and it was uphill both ways !

I am with Lefty on this. I don't care it is the media's fault for covering their celebration. They don't have to let them into it. They can get together at Shula's house and celebrate as friends there. Why do they have to let the media video them toasting their drinks if it is just them enjoying past feats? I know I would probably feel different about this is I were a Dolphins fan, but to me this comes off as arrogant.

Since when has celebration and arrogance not been a part of sports?

As for the media...they use what bits of coverage they want...some 72 Dolphins have said that the 07 Patriots can flat out kill them...but that doesn't really get coverage now does it?...

I say let them be arrogant...they went to three straight Super Bowls, won two, were 45-5-1 or something like that in that era, and gave fans their monies worth...

I live two blocks from the Orange Bowl at the time...and could hear the games in my back yard...I was a Cowboy fan though...but theses days, its like cool...they were good...good for them.

You know, I agree. It's sort of like Al Bundy always saying he how good a high school football player he was.....

But wasn't the whole point of that show that Al Bundy was a bit of a loser, with not much of a good family life, a lousy job, nothing else to look forward to EXCEPT reminiscing at old times? Hmm... kind of proves my point.

Look if you are going to be Politically Correct, and I am sure you will back me on this, we can no longer refer to Al Bundy as a "Loser"...I think there is a better term we can used...I like the more colorful "Anti-Hero"...or how about if I offered "Maturity Impaired"...perhaps...an "Early Peaker" would be appropriate?...

Bundy never hurt anyone by talking about his high school past...some people peak earlier than others...big deal...I heard Star Trek conventions are full of actors who peaked early...fans still come to see them...
