| Giants CB Webster plays way back into spotlight PHOENIX (Ticker) - The New York Giants have been labeled as resilient, tough and persistent during their improbable run to Super Bowl XLII. No one on the team embodies those qualities more, perhaps, than Corey Webster. The story of Webster's roller-coaster season - from starter to scrub to hero - in many ways mirrors the Giants' entire campaign. Webster, a third-year cornerback, generally had been branded as a bust since being selected by the Giants in the second round of the 2005 draft. Blessed with athleticism and size but plagued by his propensity for mental mistakes, Webster found himself out of New York's regular lineup less than three games into this season - a demotion which seemed permanent.
