| NFL Super Bowl XLII: New York Giants vs. New England Patriots Super Bowl XLII is just under two weeks away (Sunday, February 3rd) from Glendale, Arizona. The New York Giants will enter their first Super Bowl since being dominated by the Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV. The Patriots will try to continue their dynasty and earn a 4th Lombardi Trophy since 2001.
The Pats and G-Men played about a month ago at Giants Stadium where the game was closer than anyone expected. The Pats won, 38-35 to finish the regular season 16-0. They will attempt to be the first team EVER to go 19-0, cementing this team as perhaps the best ever.
The Giants meanwhile will look to complete the biggest upset in NFL history (arguably). The G-Men have won 10 consecutive road games and are playing with a ton of injuries (Sam Madison, Aaron Ross, Kevin Dockery, Rich Seubert, Kareem McKenzie). The extra week of rest will no doubt help some recover.
At the start of the week, the Pats were 14-point favorites.
Tom Coughlin is now in his first Super Bowl as a head coach, a year after nearly the entire fan base wanted him gone. A year has changed a lot, a whole hell of a lot. |
