And I guess for the record games in the past don't matter according to G-Men fans and the New York Media (that wasn't fair Green Bay beat us in week two -we are after all a different team). Because after all we need something to grasp onto. Granted - New York has responded and won their "must win games" againts TB & Dallas. But is it truly a case of the defense being pretty damn good? Or is it a case that the G-men faced two teams struggling entering the playoffs. I'm glad you feel good about your team. You shouldn't |

Yeah, they maybe beat two struggling teams, but their defense is also pretty good. And I am a Dallas fan so no way do I particularly care about the Giants. BTW welcome to the forum. Are you a Packer fan? |

But a history lesson (not from last weeks vaunted Seattle pass rush) but from 1996 Carolina Panthers. In that NFC championship game, the weather was almost exactly what is predicted this Sunday. Brutual cold. The Panthers were a blitz happy bunch during the regular season but couldn't muster the same in that game and got gashed by the Packers running attack. Everyone mentions the G-man sack totals, how about the lack of sacks that the Pack gave up? The Packers throw those quick patterns which the G-Men couldn't stop in week two - and add the fact - Greg Jennings probably their most productive wide out, didn't even suit up. I think the magical carpet ride the Giants are on is about to come to a screeching hault. They are playing on so much emotion (SEE WASHINGTON REDSKINS) that all it will take is a little adversity and it will be all downhill. Remember the Skins/Seahawks game - they had that game won and missed the FG - and lost it in a hurry. People talk about the G-Man confidence, well what about the Pack. If the Pack trails 14-0 this week - G-man still has that thought in their head. If the Pack gets up 14-0 its over. If the G-Men do win, I'll be rooting for them in the Super Bowl. I just don't see it happening |

| Re: The Giants Can Beat the Packers By... Well, GPack, I like to believe the Pack couldnt have beat us either, especially in Dallas. Remember Carolina is a warm weather team though. The Giants arent. Of course, I believe the Pack will win too. The cold will be brutal, but Favre will be in Lambeau and playing his heart out. This Packer team has been amazing. It would tickle me no end to have the youngest team in the league beat the Pats. I doubt the Chargers will get past them either.(the Pats) Favre has gone back to playing for the love of the game and it has made a huge diff in his performance. |

| Re: The Giants Can Beat the Packers By... The Giants trailed (albeit for a short time) against Dallas, and came back. This team has not quit and they won't in the biggest game of the season (so far). I'm not counting on week 2 to tell me much, both teams are very different compared to then. You want to talk about past opponents...why haven't you mentioned the Chicago Bears? So let's not paint the Packers as the all mighty best, hands down. They're not. Neither are the Giants. It's the NFC. |

| Re: The Giants Can Beat the Packers By... Empire I won't skirt from that Chicago game. In retrospect they didn't need it for homefield advantage There is a difference though. If you recall, Dallas struggled the night before but pulled out a win in Carolina. Like many Packer fans I was discouraged as their was no way we would catch the Cowboys now (I'm sure the players were a little letdown also). So - they show up in Chicago with a brutal weather game. No question they weren't prepared and the Bears handed it to them. But here's the difference - at the time when they played - they were either the number one or number two seed. They knew this going into the game. They weren't going to miss the playoffs. Big deal, its a loss. Teams have flat tires during the season (except NE of course). The Giants game against Minnesota was telling. At the time it was billed as a playoff type game - who wants it more. Well, obviously Minny did. The Giants weren't guaranteed anything. Okay - flat tire, just like Green Bay. If you want to get comparative like you are with Chicago, GB handled Minny twice - easily. Then Forward a few weeks later against Washington. Same result. Playoff type game and you guys didn't answer the bell. How many free passes and flat tires do you want this year? Dallas (2), Green Bay (1), Washington (1), Minny (1). Okay - you've rallied nicely. But you're not facing a Tampa Bay team that lost its last two games of the regular season. TB had a QB with a bad back and didn't have a healthy WR in the game against you guys. You're also not facing a struggling Dallas team, that dominated the game against you guys only to lose. Patrick Crayton doesn't drop the ball, then this is all moot. But - Consider GB is 18-3 in their last 21. Consider they've only lost one home game in that span. Consider that game against the Bears - the final play ended in the endzone. Consider also how many opponents the Packers have rolled over at home this year - Detroit, Oakland, Carolina, Seattle, Minny. They've had 2 bad games. Both on the road. And yes they are hands down better than the Giants - no question |

| Re: The Giants Can Beat the Packers By... The Cowboys were not a struggling team until the 2nd half when the Giants made some adjustments and capitalized on situations. The pass rush finally got to Romo, the rush defense took care of Barber and the Giants took advantage of the Cowboys nickle corner. Just like the Pack has been great at home this year, the Giants have been just as good on the road. And for all that talk about how the Giants played poorly againt the Redskins late in the year (and they did, awful game), they came right back the next week and took care of business in Buffalo in terrible climate conditions. It comes down to these things... a) the Giants pass rush vs. Favre b) the Packers pass defense vs. Plaxico/Toomer/Smith/Boss/Bradshaw/Jacobs c) who can not make stupid mistakes (penalties, turnovers) We have to figure Grant and Jacobs/Bradshaw will see their fair share of carries and success. |

| Re: The Giants Can Beat the Packers By... I'm sorry but the Cowboys struggled mightly since the Packer game. They weren't the "quick" strike team they were before. They went into the Giant game thinking they could out physical them and basically their OL wore out at the end. Actually by starting Barber hurt them when they needed fresh legs. My keys to the game are different then yours. The reason I don't like your chances is nothing personal - I only see 4 teams today that could come into Lambeau and win - NE, INDY, SD, & Chicago - thats it. 1) Eli Manning - Can the Packers get into his head? - This whole half glove deal might actually doom him. I think you're going to see the Packers come after him and rough him up. I just can't see Eli conquering the weather. Everyone mentions the Buffalo game. Well that game started in the 50's and ended in the 20's. Zero is a different animal. 2) Chicago Bears - If the G-Men were smart, they went back and watched tape of this years Packer games. For Chrissakes - Kyle Orton and Adrian Peterson couldn't be stopped by the Packers D. The Giants have a much better offense and if Eli can play the control game, Jacobs can pound and they can dink all over the field that would one thing. On defense - the LB's need to squat on the WR - and make the Packers throw deep. The Bears know exactly how to beat us and its conservative play that your coach is a master at. 3) Physical/emotion - Its a shame you guys are beat up. Its one thing to be cold, its another to tackle and hit when you are injured. If you had a healty Burris and Shockey - I'd be worried. Again - I think this will be like the WASH/SEA game. It will be close, but there will be a key play in the game that will go the Packers and the Giants will shut down. There is a reason most NFC teams are won by the home team. Its because they had that extra week to rest. You guys are coming off such a high - I can see a drop off easily this weekend. I see a close game with the Packers winning 27-17. If you do win - hats off to you. I'll be pulling for the G-Men to take down the Patriots |

| Re: The Giants Can Beat the Packers By... Yes, good game. Eli played smart and the Giants D kept Favre, his receivers, and the running game in check. I didnt think the Giants could beat them because the Pack had so much momentum going for them and it being at Lambeau. Good job Giants! |
