NFC Championship Game: NY Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

The 2008 NFC Championship game will feature two of the oldest franchises in pro football history. The game will take place at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin and the weather is expected to be VERY COLD and probably snowy (again)...which clearly favors the Packers.

These two teams played each other early in the season at Giants Stadium. The Packers won the game thanks to a big day from DeShawn Wynn.

The Giants have won 9-straight road games. The only team in NFL history to win all their playoff games on the road to earn a trip to the Super Bowl were the Pittsburgh Steelers a few years back.

The Packers will be favorites at home, but that's exactly what the G-Men expect. Who do you see winning?

I'll take the Giants because I hate the Packers.

I say the Packers but the Giants have won 9 in a row on the road, so who knows?

Should be a great game - the Frozen Tundra against an NFL-record road winning streak.

So what gives? I think the red hot Giants upset the Pack and make it to the Super Bowl - and a rematch of Week 17 against the Patriots.

Let's take it one week at a time

Favre and the HFA has me a bit worried. But the Giants rely on being the underdogs this year. So I won't count them out.

Re: NFC Championship Game: NY Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

Giants corner Aaron Ross suffered a dislocated shoulder making a tackle in the Cowboys game. He'll try to give it a go depending on if he can build up strength in the shoulder. Most fans think he'll play in Green Bay, but for how long remains the question.

Re: NFC Championship Game: NY Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

I actually had a gut feeling that the Giants might upset the Cowboys, or at least play them tough. I don't have that feeling now. However, the Giants really surprised me with their resilience last week, so maybe that can pull it off. I'm just hoping they can avoid the boneheaded mistakes that they made so often during the year.

Re: NFC Championship Game: NY Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

This is the same Giants team that is up and down, Packers have dominated all season, this a clear win for the Packers.

New England Vs. Green Bay in the super bowl
Packers win by a field goal..

I am 83.7 % positive on this prediction..

Re: NFC Championship Game: NY Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

It seems like all the "experts" are going with the Packers and Favre in this game.

It's windy right now in Green Bay although that should die down by the time the evening rolls around. It's 11mph now, but one service says it will drop to 6mph at 9pm.

And they expect it to be below zero (not sure if that's with wind chill or not, I assume so).

Re: NFC Championship Game: NY Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

So the Patriots are AFC Champs and headed to the Super Bowl.

Now, which of these two teams will earn the right to face them? Kickoff is in half an hour. We'll find out then.
