NY Giants vs. New England Patriots

The Patriots look to finish undefeated in New York this Saturday night against the playoff-bound New York Giants. The game is on the NFL Network (ugh) so unless you leave in either the New England or New York area, you must have the network to check out the game.

The Giants may sit some starters to get some rest heading into the playoffs. Particular guys like Brandon Jacobs (ankle), Gibril Wilson (knee) and Plaxico Burress (ankle, knee) may get the night off.

I don't think Eli Manning will sit, but I could see him getting a quarter or half off. Not that it would mean much, he hasn't been pretty in his recent outings.

The Patriots meanwhile will be playing for records it seems like since Tom Brady is a few away from breaking Peyton's single season TD record. Randy Moss needs some TDs as well.

So, does anyone see the New York Giants doing what 15 other NFL teams could not do?

Not a chance. I don't see them playing their starters. They don't need them to get any more hurt than they are.

Maybe they should play Eli though. There is the risk of injury, and he needs all the practice he can get.

uhh...what does that prediction have to do with this week?

I do think the Pats will rest their starters for a half.

Would be interesting if the Giants have a halftime lead.

Re: NY Giants vs. New England Patriots

Plaxico Burress practiced on a limited basis for just the third time this season yesterday.

RB Ahmad Bradshaw did not practice due to a contusion in one of his legs. Tom Coughlin said he would day-to-day. Brandon Jacobs fully practiced.

So who knows what the Giants will do? It sounds like they could start all their starters at the beginning of the game, then go about benching however the score unfolds.

Re: NY Giants vs. New England Patriots

Plaxico Burress practiced again on Friday, on a limited basis. It was the first time all season he practiced on consecutive days.

Ahmad Bradshaw missed practice again, so it doesn't look like he'll play Saturday night. Once again, Brandon Jacobs practiced and will start.

I don't like the Giants either, but I absolutely hate the Patriots. That's why I hope the Patriots win. If they have a perfect 16 and 0 regular season, it will make it that much sweeter when they loose the AFC championship game to the Jaguars.

yes

Well, I am 100 percent sure that if anybody can beat the Patriots, it would be the Jaguars, and I am really hoping that they can beat em.

Re: NY Giants vs. New England Patriots

Ugh, still same old subpar NFL Network commentating crew. How could you have the most important game (potentially) be done by such a terrible duo like Gumble and Collinsworth? (emphasis on Gumble)

I haven't had the displeasure of hearing him yet, but I can't stand anything he ever does. I really hate his HBO show.
