The Giants are in the playoffs and are the #5 seed, that's guaranteed. In Week 17, they have nothing to play for from that standpoint. However, they play the New England Patriots at Giants Stadium. The Pats are 15-0.

Various starters could sit out and rest up to prepare for the playoffs. A guy like Plaxico Burress (played hurt all year) immediately comes to mind.

So should the Giants try to sit players and play their bench guys, OR, should they play as if they needed a win for a playoff birth?

I'd sit your guys. Whether or not New England goes 16-0 isn't New York's problem or concern whatsoever. The Giants should do what they need to do in order to have their best chance at winning a playoff game or two, and that involved getting their guys rested and healthy.

I agree with Simon, but hope they at least let Jacobs play. I am in the finals in one of my leagues, and he is my RB.

I don't see Burress or Jacobs playing, especially after what the other kid did last week.

for both teams, i would treat this as a preseason game. i know the pats want a perfect season, but why risk it?
