Re: Eli Manning Throws 4 TD Passes

How is he mediocre? I think of mediocre as being guys like Cleo Lemon, Kyle Boller, Kerry Collins, Josh McCown, Trent Dilfer, Mark Brunell, etc.

You may have had some high expectations if you are already saying Eli won't improve.

Re: Eli Manning Throws 4 TD Passes

The Giants will never win anything with Eli Manning as their quarterback. How about a draft day trade involving him to move up and get Louisville's Brohm? It won't happen, of course, and the Giants will continue to count on him improving. It ain't gonna happen.

I expected him to be as good as Big Ben. And Roethisberger is not in the elite Manning, Brady class either. I stated my reason as to why Eli won't improve because he has a good amount of experience already and he's not young anymore in terms of football years, why do you think he is going to improve Empire? What are you basing this on?

The Giants offense is still not that killer offense that goes out there and throws/runs for 25+ points game. Why? Who the hell knows.

Bad day? I would say so. The problem is Eli has had too many like this in his career. What was even more scary about yesterday than usual was how he looked throwing the ball:

He often aimed the ball instead of throwing it. He constantly threw into double and triple coverage when his team had no chance of catching the ball. And he's gotta get that dopey look of his face.

I've been saying this for a couple of years now: Eli just isn't that good. And I doubt he ever will be. He's a mediocre at best.

Re: Eli Manning Throws 4 TD Passes

Cris Collinsworth had a good breakdown on Football Night in America last night. He said that the word throughout the league is that you can really rattle Eli by blitzing up the middle. Look for every coordinator in the country to start doing that, if they haven't been already.

Mediocre like I said. Take this year like last year, about half of the games he's good and half of the games he's bad. That is the definition of mediocre. I mean if you still want to say "he's got potential" you're just being naive because he's 26, played for 4 years and has played consistently the same way in those 4 years. Having the same weaknesses and strengths in which the weaknesses outweigh the strengths IMO. Where is this sudden upswing gonna come from? Is this gonna be like Steve Young when he was with the Bucs to when the Niners got him? That kind of difference? I doubt it but I guess there are dreamers out there for Eli, somedays I wish I was one of them. Mediocre QB and you can call him a good QB if you really, really stretch the limits of the word good as it pertains to a quarterback.

I also couldn't believe his demeanor and comments in the locker room after the game.

What he should have said:

"This loss is my fault. I let my teammates down, I was just rotten."

What he said in a non-chalant way: "We got some bad breaks."

Bad breaks? The only bad bad break I can think of is when San Diego accepted Accorsi's offer to trade up or him
