NY Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings

The NY Giants are in nice shape to make the playoffs. They are 7-3 with six games left to play. They play another NFC North team this week, this time the Minnesota Vikings (4-6).

The Giants will be without pass rusher Mathias Kiwanuka who broke his leg. Brandon Jacobs left the game against Detroit with hamstring problems and his status isn't known yet.

The Vikings will be without Adrian Peterson but Chester Taylor did a tremendous job against the Raiders last week.

The Giants should win this game but their offense must be able to put some points on the board.

Re: NY Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings

It sounds like Reuben Droughns will start for the Giants tomorrow afternoon with rookie Ahmad Bradshaw backing him up. Brandon Jacobs did not practice Friday while Derrick Ward was limited and listed as doubtful for Sunday.

For the Vikings, Adrian Peterson is questionable (50-50) with Chester Taylor as the #2 back.

Think again. Eli Manning sucks I hate to say it. At best he's average, at worst he's...word's fail me.

Terrible performance today. Eli looked horrible, the rest of the offense looked bad. Tavaris Jackson ran around like there was nobody on the field.

The Giants just blew it today. Put it in the rearview mirror when the game is over and tomorrow is a new day.

I'm not sure you can put a disaster like this in the rearview so easily especially at the quarterback position. 4 INTS??? 3 returned for touchdowns? What can you say Eli Manning is young and learning? If Eli is young and learning than he has some kind of learning disorder because he's been playing for just about 4 years! The defense was bad indeed but this was the first really mobile QB they faced this year. The only one close is Romo and he's not the pure runner that Jackson is. Plus 3 of the touchdowns were from INT retuns!!! This Giant team has to face that Eli Manning is a bust. I'm sorry, i'm a Giants fan but i'm also a realist.

Maybe because Winfield was out? Oh well, it didn't look like those Viking defensive players had trouble to catch those picks. Manning made those throws easier to catch than the ones to his own recievers!!

Gotham, that must make you want to quit fantasy football when that happens. It's why I did!

Well Hester has added two td kick returns...though for the first time since 1998 I am really struggling in Fantasy...last year I won 3 out of 3 leagues...so I guess I am do for a let down...

I'm not calling Eli a bust while he still has good games. He's still on pace for over 3,000 yds passing and 20+ TDs.

Is he as good as his brother? HELL NO. But a bust? I don't see it.

The Giants offense was just not doing much of anything today. From the QB to RB to receivers to the offensive line.

Tim Couch is a bust and he threw for 3000 yds too on a much worse team.

He is also on pace to throw 20 INTs

EVERY quarterback has good games!!! I mean that's how I was defining mediocrity as in Eli has about 8 good games and 8 bad a year. 3,000 yds is nice but for all of his touchdowns he tosses a pick so what good is that? Besides the Tim Couch comparison Azrael gave is also an astute point. You can be not as good as Peyton Manning and still be great like Brett Favre is but Eli is just not good. You can manipulate stats if you want to make him the 10 rated passer in the league but the fact remains is that he's not any better now than he was 2 years ago.

Re: NY Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings

I think you expect Eli to be the secondcoming of Peyton if you are saying he's not good (at all) at this point.
