Rather than attempt to sift through the carnage and attempt to explain the reasons behind the NFL-high 80 points the Giants have allowed, Antonio Pierce yesterday adopted a playful, semi-defiant and fairly bizarre stance. He actually pulled an airhorn from under his towel and let out a loud blast whenever the mood struck him.

With that, he was off and running at the mouth, taking friendly and not-so-friendly jabs at the overflow of media criticism. He also treaded into treacherous waters by including the paying customers in his sarcastic rant.

"If I knew, we'd have fixed it," Pierce said of the solution to the defensive malaise. "We're asking the media and the fans, if you can please help out the New York Giants defense we would gladly appreciate it. Fan mail can be sent to giants.com."

These bums, and make no mistake that they are mostly bums, know that Coughlin is gone and will be blamed for anything and everything that goes wrong, so they have a free pass. They love to take the stance of "it's us against the world" whenever they are criticized or caught doing something wrong. Unfortunately, when the Giants defense takes the field, it looks as if it's them against the entire world, and the world wins.
