Brandon Short Back in NYC

The Giants signed LB Brandon Short, who was waived by the Panthers weeks ago. Short left the Giants two seasons ago via free agency and then signed with Carolina. The only #s I've seen associated with a contract are at 1-year and over $500,000.

Short is not the greatest LB but he is pretty damn good against the run. Not a bad depth signing.

I like the guy. He'll never be an Urlacher or a Ray Lewis, but he is a good workman-like run-stopper. Definitely a good addition to the Giants defense. How close are they to having their defense set? I imagine they'd still like to add a pass rusher to keep some pressure off of Strahan, right?

Re: Brandon Short Back in NYC

I don't think they're looking @ DE as a position of interest. Besides Strahan & Osi, Justin Tuck provides a good switch. Eric Moore is also on the team. Look at DT as the position on the DL as something they have to look at. Kendrick Clancy signed with Arizona.

I expect them to look at DT in the draft in either the 1st or 2nd round. So if they go DB in the 1st, perhaps DT in the 2nd or vice versa.
