The Giants traded HB Ryan Grant to the Green Bay Packers for a 2008 6th round draft pick. Some sources say it's an unconditional pick meaning the Giants get the pick from the Packers no matter what.

Reportedly, the Packers offered a kicker instead but the Giants chose the draft pick. Ironically, the Packers cut said kicker and he is visiting with the Giants.

Yeah, they were trying to trade kicker Dave Rayner for a back. They were kind of desperate there when their top two backs were down.
