Although the reserves let the game go to the Jets in the 2nd half, the first half was played by the Giants starters.
Jeremy Shockey, Plaxico Burress and Sam Madison did not play. Kawika Mitchell left the game with a groin injury, no word on the severity of that yet.
Quote:
Eli Manning and the starting offense played the entire half. Manning completed 17 of 25 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.
“We did a decent job tonight,” Manning said. “We did a good job of moving the ball. We had some opportunities where we drove down there and weren't able to get points on the board. As an offense, we have to find a way to keep the ball alive and drive down there and get touchdowns. Coming into tonight, we knew the Jets had been a kind of ‘bend but don't break’ defense and that's exactly what happened. We went to a two-minute mode at the end, got a drive going and got a field goal and then at the very end went to two-minute again and got a touchdown, so that was good to get in the end zone. I thought the guys played hard and played well tonight.”
