Burress Milking Ankle Injury?

It seems that some members of the New York Giants are of the opinion that receiver Plaxico Burress is milking the ankle injury that he suffered on August 2.
"I think his milk is going bad," said a player who overheard what another player said, according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.
Said Burress in response: "It's fine. But when I get back on the football field, when I get back out there and back to being No. 17 and making plays, everybody's going to shut up and get in line.
"You think I'm not out there because I don't want to? That would be crazy to think that. Everybody's entitled to their opinion. If they think that, then good for them. But when it comes time to strap it up on Sunday, I'll be one of the best players on the field."

So many discontented players in New York, and guys gossiping about other guys behind their backs. The coach has completely lost this team.

Leave Plaxico alone for goodness sake!! If it wasn't for him and his circus catches with his freakishly long arms Eli Manning would be sitting on the bench no matter how much they paid him.

Re: Burress Milking Ankle Injury?

Burress returned to practice earlier today.

So I guess any "milking" is back with the cows.

Re: Burress Milking Ankle Injury?

So with Plaxico back at practice, this'll get swept under the rug, but it shouldn't. His teammates accused him of faking an injury. That's indicitive of a pretty messed up locker room if you ask me. Between Strahan holding out, Eli getting called out by his ex-teammate, this, and the fact that people just don't generally like Coughlin, it woulds like this team is a mess chemistry wise.

Re: Burress Milking Ankle Injury?

If they win, everything will be all smiles. If they lose 2 out of their first 3 or something similar, then you'll see guys talking to the media, and perhaps calling teammates out.

Sadly, I have no doubt that would happen. I hope a guy like Antonio Pierce can keep it to infighting so it doesn't become another media mess like last year (and the year before frankly).

Re: Burress Milking Ankle Injury?

Its very true that this team has big problems in the locker room.
People frequently accuse athletes of milking an injury. But for veterans like Burress that is just ridiculous. But when its your own teammate, ouch. I would think you want him out there healthy so he can give his all. This is stupid.

Re: Burress Milking Ankle Injury?

seems like nobody cares including the coach, It doesnt matter if your whole team is filled with all-stars, if you have constant fighting and backstabbing your not gonna win any games...
