Fire Tom Coughlin

yeah yeah the season hasnt started yet, and still i think its time they fire Tom Coughlin

is it appear to anyone else that he is little more then a lame duck coach ?

Tiki is gone and Strahan is thinking about going ....... this team (imo) has little chance of making the playoffs ..... and if they dont, it seems likely Tom will be replaced ........ so, why not do it now ?

Re: Fire Tom Coughlin

Because they already gave him an extension...who would be foolish to fire a coach right now, lol

Coughlin understands his job is based on performance. Simple. Simon.

Re: Fire Tom Coughlin

in some ways the giants might be better off without tiki and strahan, and tc would be better off without them too. Look there both all-pro players, so dont beat me on that. But so is TO and he doesnt help chemistry on a team either. I belive its pierce that gave the def the moto, but the giants defense moto is shut up and just play. Which you would never get from tiki seaking the media's camera or strahan trying to be the most outspoken player on the team. I know my opionion was different last year, but the more i read about the giants, the more i feel this way

Re: Fire Tom Coughlin

his extension was a mistake and the front office will correct it before the season is over ....... he will never lead a team far in the NFL

Where'd you see this? Weis has taken every chance to preach his affection for the Irish and the fact he will never leave them. At least that's the last I heard about it (back in February).

He did lead the Jags to the AFC Championship game.

If you listen to the players talk, they seem like they like the coach (of course, don't they have to say that publicly?). They know he wants to win and in the end, that's what's important.

Re: Fire Tom Coughlin

There's more to it than that.

With Notre Dame, Weis is really set for life. It's his alma mater and a dream job.

If he were to give all that up for the Giants, who's to say in 4-6 years he won't get fired. He can't go back to ND...know what I mean?

Plus, the money it would take to buy out Weis' ND contract would probably dissuade the Giants from having much interest.

Cool Re: Fire Tom Coughlin

He's not getting fired this year. Maybe at the end of the year, but not now.
