That I'm sure has nothing to do with it. Either he's tired of the wear and tear (major injuries in the past few years) or he want's money. Possibly, he's just tired of camp and biding his time.

but, if Strahan doesnt play, it doesnt bode well for Coughlin to last in NY

True, but if an unpopular, somewhat unsuccessful coach is one of the reasons a popular possible Hall of Famer isn't playing, doesn't that change the situation a bit?

Probably all of that Empire but probably sick of Coughlin too.

I think simon would be an excellent choice.

Re: Fire Tom Coughlin

Tiki Barber has said something to the effect that Coughlin is one factor that made him want to retire.

Don't know if that is the right wording, but it's basically the point Tiki has made.

that is reason enough to fire the guy

Tiki was a leader on this team .... on and off the field ...... if he felt this way then you know many others did as well

and thank you Bette ....... i would be happy to take the job ........ i bet i could do at least as good a job as Coughlin

Re: Fire Tom Coughlin

It's obvious Coughlin is coaching for his job this season, if the Giants don't do well, he's gone.

I just hope that doesn't become a distraction if the Giants start slow (1-2 or something similar) out of the gate.

Agreed. My question is, just how well do they have to do? Do they have to win the NFC East? Win a playoff game?

Which they have not done under Coughlin. It's going to be tough to get into the playoffs, let alone win a game. However, you never know how the season works out.
