Newsday's Arthur Staple has a running blog of Giants camp and the running theme is the Giants offense has been rusty while the defense has been pretty exciting.

This one quote from Tom Coughlin is hopefully not a sign of something that will plague the team all year:

It's been a long offseason, but there are a lot of new faces on that line this year, aren't there? Sounds like it's going to be a long 16 games...

Not really any new faces, just a shuffle. David Diehl is now starting left tackle (from RG), Rich Seubert is starting left guard (from back-up) and the rest are the same (O'Hara, Snee and McKenzie).

The talent is there, they just need to focus. I can't count how many times a holding call/false start killed a drive last year./

From what I've read, he's still the same 'ol Eli with the wobbly spirals and inaccurate arm. He still has a gun though so hopefully he'll get more in-synch as he practices and plays some pre-season games.

Then again, Arthur Staple of Newsday said this about todays morning practice: "Manning threw the ball well again, especially in 7-on-7 drills; he threw it well in the full team drills too, but that was usually after a blitzer had already blown through. Manning's best ball of the day was a play-action strike to Jeremy Shockey, sliding over the middle for a TD between Pierce and James Butler. He also threw a pretty nice deep ball to Amani Toomer, but R.W. McQuarters made a terrific play to tip the ball away."
