Giants See Through Strahan

As the non-holdout holdout by Giants defensive end Michael Strahan continues, a team insider tells us that the organization firmly believes that Strahan is trying to get more money or a trade out of town, without facing the fines and the stigma of holding out.
"He thinks he's cute in that he doesn't want to be fined, but we know he needs the money, so he won't sit out," the source said. "Before he comes in the next leak will be that he wants to be traded. He and his agent are as easy to read as looking through a window."
Actually, there's already talk of Strahan wanting out. An industry source recently told us that Strahan wants to be traded to a contender, or to a team that will pay him a bunch of money. Look for the Panthers and the Redskins to be floated as possible destinations.

Re: Giants See Through Strahan

strahan has no real trade value, and he retirment has to be in sight, so if your the giants, and its have him retire or sit out, or trade him i think you force him into retirment, he can hurt the giants more then the trade value can help the giants

Re: Giants See Through Strahan

Mara's calling Strahan's bluff. According to the New York Post, "Giants co-owner John Mara yesterday reiterated the team stance that there is no room for any negotiation of Michael Strahan's salary, which is $4 million for this season." So now it's a game of who blinks first.

Sorry Strahan there is no loyalty in the NFL it is a business. He should come to camp or retire that's it. If Strahan wants loyalty he should get a dog.

Just keep it away from Micheal Vick

And that is the reason you see Quinn holding out...can't have it both ways boys and girls...when you have leverage you have to use it...Quinn has it...Strahan doesn't...

Yep, it is different Quinn has leverage and will get better money...it's a business like you said, and when he gets old they will show him the door...so he will hold out for more...as he should.

Yep, Goth's right on this one. Strahan doesn't have a leg to stand on. The dude's on the downside of his career and he wants Freeney type money, which is crazy. Even I can admit that Quinn has more leverage than Strahan.

Re: Giants See Through Strahan

when your a 35 DE and you got one year at 4 mil left, and the owner says they wont renegoiate, its a take it or retire situation, he has no leg to stand on. Quinn will prob end up with like 17 18 pick(last years draft) money but i cant see him doing better then most alloted around him

Re: Giants See Through Strahan

I'm not sure what Strahan is playing at here. He's got to know he's not going to get what he wants. He's been in the business too long. So what is he really trying to do???
