Michael Strahan has not reported to Giants training camp today. Officially, I assume he's a holdout. There's a story being passed around by his agent that Strahan is contemplating retirement.

Most don't believe that and think Strahan simply wants a new contract (ie..More Money). Ralph Vacchiano of the NY Daily News say's Strahan is unhappy with the "lack of activity" in free-agency for the G-Men.

Strahan called for Tom Coughlin last night via phone but was unable to reach him. Coughlin got the message this morning and tried to reach Strahan but has been unsuccessful.

So as of now, Michael Strahan is a holdout.

So far there are two camps of thought. One being Strahan is totally serious about thinking retirement. Years of battling, recent injuries, a distain for the coach, his opinion that the Giants didn't do much this off-season, etc.

Then there's the camp that this is totally a ploy to get more money out of the Giants.

Hopefully this thing doesn't drag out as a distraction to the club.

So basically, Strahan's looking to become this year's Tiki Barber for you guys, eh? He'll come back and that retirement talk will be a distraction all year long.
