Question Giants To Sign Keyshawn Johnson

One year after being pursued by the Giants, Keyshawn Johnson is available again. And though a return engagement in New York isn't likely, Tom Coughlin refused to rule it out.

"Well, let's put it this way," Coughlin said yesterday on Sirius NFL Radio. "We study every player that's available and we'll do that again in light of the fact that Keyshawn is available. We weren't necessarily thinking that he would be. Of course we made a move in the draft to help solidify that position as well, so we'll take a look at that like we do everything else."

Re: Giants To Sign Keyshawn Johnson

if they signed him it be a signal amani will be useless this year. Thy got sinorce moss, steve smith(usc not the good one) plax amani and shockey, i just dont see where it would be a great benifiet, but with that said keyswahn would be a help just not that significant in my mind

Burress and Keyshawn...you'd need a staff psychiatrist on board. I'm against this move big time because they have the physical, big reciver in Plaxico. I think they should have a bit more faith in Moss and let him and Toomer split the #2 reciever duties.

Re: Giants To Sign Keyshawn Johnson

Keyshawn isn't what this team needs. They need to get younger at wideout, not older. Drafting Moss last year and Smith this year might help, but Toomer and Johnson are both most likely nearing the end of their careers, and one has to wonder about Burress' future in New York once his deal runs out. New York should rethink this move.

Keyshawn might fit well in NY, but would be a veteran receiver.

He is one of those few that wouldn't really make a difference. Instead, he would just be a counselor amongst the team whilest the lockeroom.

Re: Giants To Sign Keyshawn Johnson

It'd be an interesting move. I doubt it happens but perhaps it's insurance in case Plaxico pulls something with his contract. There was a blurb in Yahoo! Sports' draft coverage when Smith was drafted that Burress could end up holding out or something for money.

Plaxico, Amani, Sinorice, Steve....I think that's plenty. Of course that's assuming Amani and Sinorice are healthy.

Re: Giants To Sign Keyshawn Johnson

Amani Toomer healthy? It could happen.

Sinorice Moss is the future of this organization in the WR position. They got a steal last year by drafting him. He will be gold in a decade from now!

Agreed. They don't need Keyshawn. He's old and dropped a lot of balls last year.

Dropping balls is normal. Everyone is human.

But, he is no longer the elite receiver that he once was.

Sure does, but does the team need another aging receiver? No, they need to get younger at the wideout position.

Re: Giants To Sign Keyshawn Johnson

with the giants receiving core being injured on a regular basis, i think keyshawn would be a great addition. He could also teach the younger guys a thing or two

Exactly Buba...anything to add more depth to the team is a great idea to me. They've spent much too much time in recent seasons playing street free-agents because starters and back-ups got hurt.
