Overall, I'm satisfied with the team's draft. I don't know much about some of the later guys but I think all but the last pick have a good shot at making the team.
Aaron Ross provides some much needed help at a position of need. He is also a punt returner. He should challenge Corey Webster for a starting spot.
Steve Smith is the type of receiver the Giants need. He can catch the ball and has speed, and a good route runner. If Moss can stay healthy, the Giants should have a pretty good receiving corps.
Jay Alford is an interesting pick as some think it was a bit of a reach. This pick could signal the end of William Joseph if he doesn't show much in camp.
Zak DeOssie is a good player. He's a player, simply put. He's a leader on the field plus he's a long snapper. That could free up a roster spot if Ryan Kuehl isn't needed (strictly a long snapper).
Kevin Boss is an interesting selection. He's a 6'6" tight end who on film, looks like a wide receiver. He's a pass catching tight end who played some basketball in college so he's a bit raw.
Adam Koets has a lot of starting experience at LT in a good conference. He should add some good depth for the offensive line.
As for Michael Johnson, I don't know much about the guy but if nothing else, he'll provide some depth and a body for special teams.
I doubt Ahmad Bradshaw will make the team. |
