All Eyes on Jerry Reese for Giants

Much of the New York Giants media today is centered around rookie GM Jerry Reese for the Giants who will be controlling his first draft next weekend.

The NY Post's Joel Sherman says the team can't afford NOT to take a defensive player in the first round with the 20th overall pick. Sherman believes Jon Beason would be a great pick (LB from Miami) and Lawrence Timmons and Paul Posluszny would be reaches. Also, a stat: Of the nine players the Giants have selected in the past 10 years...only two have made the Pro Bowl. Jeremy Shockey and Phil Rivers...and well, we all know which team he's on.

Nobody ever said Accorsi was a top draft GM...although he made some nice late round picks...he never excelled in the first round.
