 Giants Free Agent and draft update

The Dolphins are likely to release kicker Olindo Mare by next week. Mare will likely be signing with the Giants, Saints, or Falcons, with the Giants being the favorite according to his agent (Rosenhaus).
- The Newark Star-Ledger is reporting that Matt Lehr’s agent has made the Giants a counteroffer to their original proposal.
- The Giants seem set on drafting a linebacker to play alongside Wilkinson and Pierce.
- The Giants aren’t interested in much of what’s left on the market. Any moves in free agency from here on out will likely be minor ones, with Ian Scott being the biggest name on their list. Cato June is a longshot at best. They are hoping to get something out of the next wave of cuts in the first week of April.
- Fullback Vonta Leach did meet with the Giants yesterday. No word of whether he was offered a contract or not.
