WR Kevin Curtis is coming to see the Giants tonight. For those who think Amani Toomer won't be the same when he tries to return from ACL reconstruction, this could soothe your minds. Curtis, 28, has played four seasons for the Rams as a depth pass-catcher. Less exciting is that, according to Curtis' agent, he is drawing interest from several teams, so he won't come cheap, even for a quality slot receiver.

OK, better news: His agent is Tom Condon, from the Creative Artists Agency -- Condon's clients include Eli Manning, so CAA's relationship with the Giants has been strong.

Speaking of... Luke Petitgout, who dumped CAA for Drew Rosenhaus once the Giants dumped him, is reportedly close to a deal with the Bucs.

Curtis seems like a solid possession receiver. With the Giants, they need guys who are stable and have the ability to catch the ball on a consistant basis. If he can fit that role, he'd be a nice sign. But I doubt the Giants will compete with other teams in the form of a lot of money to get him.

If they sign Curtis, I'm guessing he'll start opposite Plex. Would this spell the end for Toomer?

It doesn't look like the Giants will have a good shot at signing him. News reports say Curtis fired his agent after he could not work a deal out with the Lions who everyone assumes he wants to play for (because of Martz). NFL Policy says he can't hire another agent for five days.

He was suppose to fly to NY last night but didn't. He may come today or tomorrow but nothing is confirmed.

i just dont understand all these cuts we had, with not even signing anyone, they just seem to be quiet and content on a complete rebuilding, if thats so i sure as hell dont know what to expect from ole realiable eli
