It sure looks like. The local papers are reporting the Giants have made a "take it or leave it" type offer to O'Hara who at last time checked, was far apart as far as what the team was offering and what he wanted.
Daily News says they offered a 6-year, $21 million deal. The
Post says they offered a 5-year, $18 million deal. O'Hara wants a 5-yer, $20 million deal with $8 million guaranteed.
Unless they come together before midnight tonight, O'Hara will enter the open market as free-agency begins and the likelihood he stays with the Giants would be slim to none.
Of course Giants beat writer,
Ralph V. of the Daily News on his blog said this: "Be sure to check back later for the latest on the down-to-the-wire negotiations between the Giants and Shaun O’Hara. It doesn’t look good, but I still think they’re so close – one source said the difference is less than $150,000 per year in salary – that cooler heads will eventually prevail and this will get done."
