Willis McGahee to Giants?

ESPN's John Clayton is reporting that Buffalo has begun shopping RB Willis McGahee, and that Jerry Reese has made it well know that he's interested in the disgruntled Bills running back. So would this be a good move for New York, or should they find Tiki's replacement elsewhere?

I guess from a talent standpoint, it is an alright counter to losing Tiki, but I don't like the move.

The Giants have enough divas on their roster, in my mind. With all the locker room banter that gets shoveled to the media day after day during the season, bringing in McGahee would only add fuel to the fire. They should be looking to bring in blue collar, team-oriented players and not more prima donnas.

It's being reported, however, that the Giants are unwilling to give up a first day pick. The are not going to land McGahee without surrendering at least a third. I'm not even a huge fan of McGahee and I would pay/demand more than that.

Re: Willis McGahee to Giants?

It's an interesting possibility but I'd agree with Giants officials who don't want to give up a first day pick for the guy. He's coming off some rather serious health problems.

I hope the Giants use the draft to focus on defense, which means they'd have to find a RB in free-agency who's willing to split some time with Jacobs.

Cool Re: Willis McGahee to Giants?

I would pass if I were the Giants. McGahee has averaged only 3.8 yards a carry over the last 2 years. Add that to his attitude and his injury history, it's not worth giving up a first day's draft pick.

McGahee is a good back (a bit of an attitude) who played for a bad team where they keyed on him.
