Newsday reports the New York Giants will (expectedly) name Jerry Reese their new general manager. He will take over for the retiring Ernie Accorsi (who will stick around somewhat and ease the transition).
Reese will become the third black GM in the NFL (along with Baltimore's Ozzie Newsome and Houston's Rick Smith). He has been with the Giants since 1994 when he was a scout.
As
Arthur Staple reports from his blog, this appointment will be made official at a 10:30 (am) morning press conference.
And here's an
article from the NY Times.
