The Giants fired their defensive coordinator, Tim Lewis. I can't argue with that. The Giants defense never came through in the big game this year. I'm not sure who they're going to hire to replace him.

Giant fans are happy that at least Lewis will not return. This was expected as the Giants defense has been nothing short of ordinary each of the seasons he's presided over them. Without a doubt, the secondaries have been attrocious. Granted there have been no star players but they have not been coached well and the schemes are bad.

I know the early name associated with Coughlin is Dom Capers, but I haven't checked any stories yet about potential new coordinators.

edit...At the Star Ledger Blog, the word spreading is the expectation that all the defensive coaches will be let go. Perhaps the only one to be retained will be defensive line coach Waufel. And as I mentioned, the early favorite (due to his past relationship with Coughlin) to be the new defensive coordinator is Capers.
