Believe it or not, the Giants still aren't home free just yet. With the win about 1/2 an hour ago, the Giants eliminated the Falcons, Panthers and Rams from playoff contention after defeating the Redskins.

The only possible way the Giants don't make the playoffs is if the following happens tomorrow:

-Detroit Lions upset Dallas Cowboys
-Minnesota Vikings upset St. Louis Rams
-Green Bay Packers upset Chicago Bears

Conversely, the Giants can win the tiebreaker with Green Bay (if they win) if any two of the following team picks up a W on Sunday: Indianapolis, San Diego, Denver, Tampa Bay, Houston and Carolina.

Okay, I'm confused. So what happens if the Lions, Vikings and Packers all win, but two of those teams (say, the Colts and Chargers) win as well. Then who goes to the playoffs?

In that (never gonna happen) scenario, the Giants would get the playoff birth due to the strength of schedule tiebreaker.
