Tiki Barber, PLEASE Be Quiet!

I have not had any problems with Tiki Barber up until now. When it came out that he was planning on retiring, I thought okay, he's entitled. Football doesn't have to be the man's life forever. All the power to him. Then the team sunk and lost a bunch of games. Did anyone outright blame the whole Tiki-Retirement talk for it? I don't think so. But looking back now, it may have played with the psyche of the team. Whether anyone wants to acknowledge it or not, it had to.

Anyway, that's not the point. During Tiki's post-game press conference, he fielded questions regarding his final game at Giants Stadium. His responses all centered around the fact that he had no emotion because mentally, he was already gone and in the next phase of his life...which we all know is NOT football.

NOW...how can you have your star running back talking about not being mentally in the damn sport? This is what ticks me off, if he's not focused on being a football player, then don't suit up and play. It's sickening already all the talking he's doing about the next phase of his life in the media. Who cares already?

I think it's clearly obvious that his retirement talk effected his own mind and play. In the second half, he was a shell of his former self. Was Luke Pettigout THAT much of a force in the running game? He's a good tackle but he's no Orlando Pace circa 2000 if you catch my drift.

So Tiki...PLEASE SHUT YOUR MOUTH!

He is entitled to make his own idiotic and controversial remarks, or not.

And he has to deal with the consequences of those remarks...but since he's retiring I guess he feels as though might as well unburden his mind! What are the Giants gonna do suspend him?
