Giants vs. Eagles : Division Battle

We're back to another heated and playoff influencing match-up between the two division rivals. The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles will play at Giants Stadium next Sunday with the winner in prime position to take one of the NFC's Wild Card spots.

So, can Jeff Garcia lead the Iggles to another win? Or will the Giants finally put together a winning streak?

Cool Re: Giants vs. Eagles : Battle of 7-6

I think the Giants win this game pretty easily.

Thanks, ThePundit.

I think it will be a vicious war sending both armies back, but soon the Giants will be victorious as the Eagles fall to their wrath.

Re: Giants vs. Eagles : Battle of 7-6

I say Jeff Garcia suprises all and beats the Giants although Mathias Kiwanuka is making Coughlin look like if he can't coach at least he draft well. Defensively the Giants have tightened up but I get a feeling this is a fluke game where Garcia plays big. I do like Eli Manning when they let him play in the no huddle but he's actually effective that way and seemingly only that way so naturally Tom Coughlin doesn't let him run it. Great F'N coach huh???

Michael Strahan participated in individual drills on Wednesday and Thursday...but I'm not sure if he practiced earlier today. However, ESPN says he will not play this weekend.

Frankly, I wouldn't expect Strahan to play perhaps until the final game of the regular season in Washington.

The giants are just miserbal to watch the coaching staff needs to go the special team units do nothing, the giants offense is to predictbale and the defensive calls seem timid

Re: Giants vs. Eagles : Battle of 7-6

I gotta question some of the offensive calls in the second half. They ran Tiki as if he was doing great...he wasn't. He was consistantly getting stuffed but they kept running him. One drive which stands out was the Giants in the redzone. Two failed running plays. 3rd and goal, a failed pass play and they settle for a field goal. I think Hufnagel calls the plays, but that's just bad playcalling.

Derrick Ward is a terrible return man. Why isn't Chad Morton getting the kickoffs?

Giants are still in prime position to get into the playoffs though so I guess I'll look at the bright side.

When I ponder kick returners, I always come across Chad Morton's name.

It seems pretty weird how they are putting someone else into his slot.

Giant football blog says the Giants have tortured their fans long enough. Do the Giants have any chance to make a run in the playoffs?

The Giants have melted down so completely in the money time of the season, they don't deserve to get into the playoffs. Why be subjected to further embarrassment?

The playoffs are a beast all unto itself. The Giants have the tools to get hot but it's all up to them. It certainly doesn't look like they can even get out of their own way at this point though.

Re: Giants vs. Eagles : Division Battle

THe only thing the Giants have going for them is that an eighth seed played for the Stanley Cup, George Mason went to the Final Four, and the Cardinals won the World Series after falling apart down the stretch. They have the scarecrow calling plays, the cowardly lion on the sidelines with a bad foot, the tin man at quarterback, and Dorothy on the defensive line. Imagine Tiki not being able to knock that deflection down. Their defense is like Swiss cheese and their special teams are rotten. If they go anywhere in the playoffs, it is a poor reflection on the state of the NFL.

The pass defense is awful. The run defense is average. Special teams, rotten? Morton is a good punt returner, Feagles is one of the best punters and Feely is a good kicker. Our kick returns are horrible though.

Re: Giants vs. Eagles : Division Battle

empire morton averages under 10 yards per return that ranks him at 13 and that makes him a good punt renturner??? but i do agree with feagles and feely
