Giants Rallying Together

It appears if you listen/read interviews of the Giants from today that the backdrop is the dislike towards the media for trying to shake up their locker room. Well, everyone but Plaxico pretty much said that. Anyway, Antonio Pierce was very vocal towards the media for what he perceived as trying to stir up something between teammates.

Pierce said, "I want to thank you guys again for causing all of the disruption on our team. You all did this last time when we were 1-2 and good things came out of it. So keep writing negative things and keep trying to make guys bicker on our team....but we’re not angry at one another. We’re angry at all of you guys and we thank you for that. We’re not angry at one another. (Michael) Strahan and Plax(ico Burress) kissed this morning. It was a beautiful thing. They made up, and everyone knows each other around here again."

Also, Brandon Jacobs was also pretty forceful when he said the media hasn't done anything to them as far as the team's relationships with one another.

It looks like this team is ready to rally together and prove to the world they're not the dogs and malcontents everyone thinks they are.

This game on Sunday is going to be great!

Re: Giants Rallying Together

They can rally whatever. Eli is gonna miss 55% of his passes. The defense will give up big plays and the dumb, needless penalties will be there in spades. As Vince McMahon once said, "You can't shine sh**!"

Cool Re: Giants Rallying Together

You got to love these Giants. They say things to the reporters and then when they get in trouble for it, they blame the media. Pathetic.

They blame the media for attempting to start trouble amongst the players.

Re: Giants Rallying Together

Nobody went on Strahan's radio show and impersonated him, calling Burress out for being the dog that he is. Nobody kidnapped Tiki last week and put an identical double in his place to cry he didn't get enough carries. Imagine if the Giants win this week, and nobody from the media came into interview any of these jackasses? How would they respond to that? This is the common response in many sports nowadays, espeically football, when there is discord, it's the media creating it. I could never live long enough to care who likes who as long as the team I root for goes out and plays well, and I don't need Strahan to tell me that Burress is a lazy slob on the filed. I can see that for myself. I can also see who wants to be out there and who doesn't.

Re: Giants Rallying Together

It's not Strahan getting mad he's getting in trouble. He was mad at the ESPN reporter for trying to insinuate him putting Plax under the bus, 48 hours after he made the original comments.

Re: Giants Rallying Together

If I were the Giants i'd worry less about the media and more about the Cowboys. You want to show attitude and guarantees than show it in practice and preparation not in the newspaper. Guarantees in the Daily News mean to me about as much as a warm jar of monkey urine. Just win today that's the most important thing.

Re: Giants Rallying Together

There have been no guarantees that I know of. It's simply the Giants finding something to rally themselves together behind. If you ask me, they needed something like that after all that happened.

We'll find out if it matters any in about five hours.

Re: Giants Rallying Together

I get a kick out of watching Coughlin on the sidelines. I hope no one ever takes his blood pressure cuz it would have to be 200/120 minimum. The guys and I call him Casket Face..........but I like the guy.

Yeah a guy from PA most likely an Eagles fan WOULD like to see Coughlin making a mess out of the Giants. Maybe he is a good coach but this isn't the right circumstance or team for him. He was good with the Jaguars but the Giants are in freefall so that says a lot for that. All this talk about team meetings and yelling at reporters don't mean spit to me. Go out, prepare, watch film, practice hard and win the friggin game today. That's what's important, not stupid headlines on the back of newspapers or college boy ESPN reporters making wiseass remarks. Meanwhile Eric Mangini has his Jet's who are in a rebuilding mode at the same record the Giants are and no one is paying attention....no one that doesn't matter of course! All smart football fans have an eye on the Jets and are amazed that in year 1 of Mangini's rebuilding mode with a skeleton defense the Jets are in position for the playoffs!

Re: Giants Rallying Together

I guess what I like about casket face is that he is such a hard ass. I'm tired of these overpaid babies crying to the media and being untouchable. I know it is a generational thing with me but I'd love to see, for example, Plaxico benched after her lolligagged it on the pass play last week. But it ain't gonna happen.
