Giants vs. Cowboys

Okay, Sunday's loss to Tennessee was as ugly as ugly could get. Blowing such a comfortable lead so late in the game is devestating. This will be the true litmus test for the Giants, though. How do they respond to such a loss, with a division rival coming into town? Can Coughlin, Eli and company pick themselves up and dust themselves off, or are they going to curl up in a little ball and call it a season. What do you guys think?

Re: Giants vs. Cowboys

As much as I've always disliked Dallas, I'll have to admit that Romo is going to school young Eli in the art of quarterbacking. Dallas will walk away, easily, with the win.

Hope Eli is taking good notes on the sideline.

Cool Re: Giants vs. Cowboys

Dallas is really coming together. They can put the Giants away with a win here. I think they do it.

Great analogy. I had such high hopes for Peyton's little bro. So much for genetics. Maybe Peyton will spend some time with him in the off season.

Re: Giants vs. Cowboys

This is the Giants season right here. A win for the GMen and their fate is in their own hands.

Dallas meanwhile can put the stake in the Giants hearts with a win. The crowd will be restless if the Giants continue playing like crap. However, will they come together over the next week and have that us against the world mentality? For Coughlins sake, I sure hope so.

As i've said Va...he's the Billy Ripken of football. I just don'ts see any upside to this guy. Eli has nothing going for him. No mechanics, cant read defenses, panics when the going gets tough. No coaching can change these things. Face it out of Rivers, Roethisberger and Eli, Eli is far and away the worst of the 3. Yeah Rivers hasn't played a full season put he has loads of potential and is doing things right. You can't say that about Eli.

Well Trashed as much as I hate to agree, I agree. I was hoping to give Eli the benifit of a doubt, wait and see what would happen. But the wait is over. With that said, I still think Coughlin needs to go.

Cmon now...panics? Just b/c he threw that terrible pass last night? He's led the team on several fourth quarter comebacks.

Rivers has "loads of potential"...while Manning is garbage? I'm sure if the Giants were 7-4 and the Chargers just blew it against Oakland, you'd say differently.

Let's wait and give the kid a few seasons (he's just now officially over the two year mark as a starter) before we label him anything.

Personally I like Eli...these are probably the same people who would have kicked Terry Bradshaw out of Pittsburgh by 1974...

What have you seen from Manning to suggest any upside to this bust? You want to give him a few seasons? Well then expect many 5-11 seasons. I said Rivers shows potential yes, I expect him to after sitting on the sidelines for 2 years and observing Drew Brees toss the pigskin. All he needs is the physical tools which Rivers seems to have. That's what I mean. That's logic. All you are saying Empire is "lets give em a few years" and "he threw 1 bad pass" with the second reason ABSOLUTELY not true. If all you have to make your case that Eli Manning is gonna be a great/good player are trite excuses than you have to wonder what kind of player he is. The bottom line is if you don't produce on the field you cost your team victories as a quarterback.

Where'd you get the 5-11 from? His first season as a full-time starter, he led them to a division title. This season, they're in good position to net a playoff spot again.

Last season in his first full as starter, he had 24 TDs (i believe)...no Giants QB since Tarkenton has thrown that many.

I'd say those are some good things to lay your hat on that he won't be a bust when it's all said and done.

Most of his throws are way off target and have to be credited to circus catches by Burress, Toomer and Shockey. Those poor throws are why those recievers are always hurt. He didn't lead then to any title. You can thank Tiki Barber, the defensive ends and Antonio Pierce for that. They won despite Eli not because of him and even you said he fades terribly down the stretch? So which is it? Fades down the stretch or is he the guy that's gonna lead you to a division title? I tell you this amigo...the only bowl Eli is gonna lead the Giants is the toilet bowl. Not to mention with a great O-Line, running game, recievers and defense Eli STILL can't get it done. Man if Chad Pennington had this to work with the Jets would win the superbowl. That's the difference between Chad and Eli, Chad cares and Eli is just a boy who suffers from sunday panic attacks collecting a check! Disagree? You have not only me but a the whole country to laughing at Eli Manning. Do what I do when attacking the US...blame George Bush..everyone else does!

Re: Giants vs. Cowboys

Empire answer me this...never mind hindsight or whatever just answer me honestly. You're drafting the QBs of 2004. Who would you take first, second and third. Me?

1. Rivers
2. Roethisberger
3. Losman (yes I think that if you worked with him he could be good certainly if he had the cast Manning has!!!)

Will you say the Giants should have not taken Rivers or traded for Roethisberger?
