Manning is no Brady, Peyton or McNabb yet, obviously. The offense isn't built around him. The offense is still built around Tiki and they establish the passing game off of that. One question I have is why they didn't get Shockey involved earlier in the game.

But Trashed, if Tiki has a bad game, would you want to bench him?

See even the mighty Legend can make a great observation in Eli's body language when he's struggling. That's not the mark of a great or even good QB and that's not something that can be corrected by coaching. That's what Daunte Culpepper does and he's on the bench! Typical 21st century, unthinking, big time college QB. Legend was also right about baseball being better than football. The sport of football is overofficiated and undertalented. The NFL is dead. We have much to learn from Legend.

Don't get me wrong, I like football, but I honestly don't have a favorite team to root for anymore. I used to be a Vikings fan, and took some of the worst beats a fan can bear back in the 70s. I grew up watching guys like Tarkenton and Staubach, Bradshaw and John Brodie. Almost every QB back then was very good, but many lacked the talent around them. But the erosion of the QB skills, coupled with coach's reluctance to let them throw the ball down the field, makes for less than thrillin games. Look what happens in a game like Bengals- Chargers when thew teams come out and throw the ball. Then watch Houston-Jacksonville or KC-Miami.
By the way, the best wide receiver I ever saw- Gene "The Bomb" Washington for the 49ers. Second to none, and no argument could ever persuade me different.

Brodie to Washington is old school...liked them both...

Brodie's daughter Erin was on the reality show "For love or Money"...she won...I remember her telling one of the guys, "Yeah, my dad played for the 49ers but you've probably never heard of him...ouch!"

These new QBs are horrible that come out of college. Manning, Roethisberger, Alex Smith coupled with horrendous officiating and injuries that force us to watch special teams players starting make for unwatchable sports time. Football sucks. I used to consider it the best thing on this earth but there is no talent anymore like Lege alluded to and every QB is being forced to play like Micheal Vick due to horrendous officiating and lack of talent. In 15 years every QB is gonna be like Vince Young. Thanks but ill take David Wright and Ryan Howard for my entertainment. And to all those baseball fans who I insulted by my posts saying the game is boring let me just apologize and say you were right. Football is a dud as I have indisputably proven on other threads. The proof is there so I make a motion to ban the NFL from even existing. If people want football let 'em watch college football cuz it's not like that crap can be taken any more seriously than pro-wrestling and much like pro-wrestling there's loads of hot chics! Ban the NFL!!!
