Tom Coughlin contract

Looks like the Giants ownership wants to keep head coach Tom Coughlin around a while, at least according to a New York Daily News report today that says "there is a strong hope within the organization that at the end of the season, preferably in February, co-owner John Mara will place a call to Tom Coughlin's agent and begin discussing a contract extension. The Giants crave coaching constancy and want Coughlin to provide it." Good move?

Re: Tom Coughlin contract

Well, everyone knows he was specifically hand chosen by the late Wellington Mara. It would have taken a lot for Coughlin to get the axe. And with the entire team buying into him and his philosophy, it looks like he'll be in New York for awhile.

Fire him cuz his teams commit too many penalties. I hate penalties. How many false starts or holdings must we endure under Coughlin? We need disciplined playing not some fool who just yells a lot.

Re: Tom Coughlin contract

I can see Coughlin getting rewarded with a new contract at the end of the season.

i dont, how can you be a dicipline coach when your team commits the most penalties. Its retarded its like saying eli has the best arm but his longest throws are a yard. the giants might be winning but sooner or later they will get killed with penalties theres only so many times you can win a game in the fourth quarter

I think the only way he will get fired is if he disappoints the team. He needs to keep progressing until a super bowl. If he falls short at any time, I don't htink they will hesitate to can him.
