New York Giants vs. Houston Texans

The New York Giants are looking for their 5th straight win when they host Houston on Nov. 5. The Texans, meanwhile, fell to 2-5 yesterday with a loss to Tennessee. Not to mention that one-time (and perhaps future) franchise quarterback David Carr was benched in favor of the far more effective Sage Rosenfels. Which will start against NY? Does it matter? I say it does not. Expect the Giants to win. Big.

Re: New York Giants vs. Houston Texans

The Giants defense hasn't allowed more than 20 points except for once in their last four games. They're playing as good as you can get. Tom Coughlin said today both Osi Umenyiora and Sam Madison will be questionable for the game which probably means neither will play.

The rolling sack machine will have their shot against David Carr, who was benched last week after turning the ball over three times.

Re: Giants vs. Texans

If the Texans can score over 20 points, I'd consider it a HUGE dissapointment for the Giants. Unless they have a flat out terrible day, I can't comprehend Carr, Lundy and Andre Johnson putting a twenty spot on the board this Sunday.

Re: Giants vs. Texans

It has just come to me that this is the Giants' year. The once formidable schedule doesn't look all that hard now the way things are shaking out. Here's what's left-

Texans at home- should be an easy win
Bears at home- Pumped up as Chicago comes in undefeated for sure
at Jaguars- a team with a terrible offense
at Titans- a team with loads of problems
Cowboys at home- Who knows how they will be in about a month?
at Panthers- another team falling apart at the seams
Eagles at home- will be out of the hunt by then
Saints at home- thier bubble is in the process of bursting now
at Redskins- another team on the verge of imploding

I see the Giants only losing two of these games at the most- possibly to the Bears and to the Jaguars or Panthers

Re: Giants vs. Texans

Plaxico Burress is questionable because of back pains. He hasn't practiced in nearly a week. I don't know if he plays but if I'm Coughlin, I don't know if I would push him. Let him rest up, it's a long season.

Re: Giants vs. Texans

The Giants win 14-10 after the Texans gave them a scare by leading well into the fourth quarter. Plaxico Burress, Sam Madison, Kareem McKenzie and Brandon Short did not play for the Giants.

Tiki Barber scored his first rushing TD of the year in the first quarter. The Giants took the lead midway into the fourth after the Texans FB fumbled the ball as they were looking to increase their lead. Eli Manning threw a TD pass to Jeremy Shockey for the go ahead score.
