Cool Giants

Take all of Eli's late numbers and throw them out the window. They mean nothing. When they needed him to play well early, he completed a ton of passes - to the other team.

The Giants are fortunate to even be 1-2. Coughlin has to take a lot of the blame for a lot of this. They have come out not ready to play for 2 straight weeks.

Re: Giants

I wouldn't blame Eli for the loss. The Giants defense was awful. Plaxico Burress couldn't catch a pass. Tim Carter couldn't catch a pass. Jeremy Shockey was open sometimes but Eli had blitzers in his face. The o-line, as predicted, couldn't handle the crowd noise.

All round horrid effort. Terrible game.

Cool Re: Giants

I agree Empire. It certainly is all not Eli's fault. And you're right. The Giants defense has been just horrible.

Re: Giants

Jeremy Shockey was 100% right, they were outplayed AND outcoached. Except perhaps he didn't have to emphasize the "outcoached" part.

Bye week next, maybe that's a good thing.

Re: Giants

The entire Giants team is an unmitigated, complete mess. The biggest culprits are the offensive line and the defense. The defense is worse than the 49ers. The Giants finish this year with 6 wins, a high draft pick and hopefully a new defensive coordinator of 2007. Coughlin has lost this team and it's over for the NY Giants.

Re: Giants

I said this team was a mess last week judging by the first 2 games while everyone was in unlikely comeback euphoria. I said the way this team plays is gonna spell disaster sooner than later. Yesterday was the day and theyre will be many more days like yesterday. The Giants are one of the worst teams in the NFL without question and Tom Coughlin is looking like Rich Kotite more week by week. This team will be rebuilding like their crosstown rivals sooner than you think. Never mind Eli this and Eli that, this whole team especially the coaching staff is nothing short of horse feces.

Cool Re: Giants

Here's a telling stat - Michael Strahan: a Whopping zero sacks after 3 games....I was wondering what the Giants do at practice? I mean there are no Giants defenders within shouting distance of Seahawks receivers.

Re: Giants

What's happened to defensive coordinator Tim Lewis? His first year here with considerable less talented players, he would have some great schemes. Last year, we had one of the best pass rushing attacks in the game. This year through three games, we nearly NEVER get to the QB.

You can't tell me Kendrick Clancy was THAT important to it all

But this team does have a LOT of stuff to work out. How they go through the next quarter of the season should go a bit of a way into showing everyone how they intend to right the ship.

Re: Giants

"Oh what's the difference how they played in Philly? They found a way to win that's the important thing!" Well funny thing is miracles are called miracles because they dont happen every week and no one is using that quote I started this post with this monday. The defense is not even slowing down teams, the coaching staff have lost the players respect, the offensive line cant stay still, the recievers cant catch passes, the QB throws into triple coverage, etc. etc. etc. If the fundamentals are not being met in the Giants style of play and those mistakes are not corrected than you are looking at a 5-11 season at best. This team is a disgrace. Evendently im not the only one who thinks so and im not talking about fans and media. The entire Giants organization are acknowledging that they suck as well they should. From the much respected Antonio Pierce and loud mouthed Jeremy Shockey to the "stern" headmaster Coughlin. The Giants are a very expensive disaster. Typical of New York media made teams made of up oft-injured losers like LaVar Arrington. No wonder football is second bananna in NYC. Lucky the Knicks suck or they'd be 3rd! Say...dont the Giants kinda resemble the Knicks a bit? Calling Isiah!

Re: Giants

The Giants are taking a chance on Arrington. If he somehow finds himself, he could return to Pro-Bowl form. If not, he fades off into the sunset. What this defense has lacked and still lacks is that ballhawking guy in the secondary. Gibril Wilson looked outstanding in his rookie season until he got hurt and hasn't looked the same since.

Re: Giants

Shockey, who has accomplished nothing in his career except show what a moron and embarrassment he is, has no business mouthing off. He is always hurt, drops as many passes as he catches, and is the first to scream when things go bad. I would love to see the Giants send him packing, but know enough about economics to realize that's not possible.

Well Shockey is controversial but if he was as useless as you say you would see how many guys get past his excellent blocking. One of his complaints is that he blocks too much in fact. Aside from Gates there is no tight end better that Jeremy Shockey. Is he controversial? Sure but so is every other pro-athlete these days. At least by mouthing off he shows that he cares and wants to win rather than just sulk and collect a big paycheck. As for what he has achieved, look at his stats and look at every other tight end's stats since he entered the league and you HAVE to put him in the elite class. His drops have all but nearly diminished its just that he dropped one yesterday in front of everyone and now everyone thinks he's got the dropsees when he doesnt. In fact hes made some circus catches from Eli when Eli has been blitzed. I dont want to defend him too much because he's a Giant so he sucks but he sucks a lot less than "players" like David Diehl and Shaun O'Hara who cant stay still and the Giants secondary who play 20 yards off the recievers.
