| Giants To Observe September 11 Anniversary Prior to Sunday's season opening game versus the Indianapolis Colts, the New York Giants will have a ceremony to observe the fifth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Straight from Giants.com...
-Approximately 80,000 American flags will be distributed to fans entering the stadium. A moment of silence will be observed prior to the game.
-The color guard will be comprised of representatives from the FDNY, NYPD and NY/NJ PAPD (Port Authority Police Department). At the conclusion of the national anthem, which will be sung by Kate Mara, there will be a flyover with three Blackhawk helicopters.
Hopefully, NBC will show some of the ceremony followed by the national anthem. Kate Mara always does a great rendition of the anthem (she did it last year after her grandfather passed away). |
