After his big contract, Eli Manning is one of the best paid quarterbacks in the league. Question is, is he one of the best quarterbacks in the league?
I say no.
Consider this little fact, Eli Manning is NOT a Super Bowl winning quarterback. He happens to be the quarterback of a Super Bowl winning team. He didnt win that game. He didnt take the team on his shoulders and lead them to the Promised Land.
Sure, he had a good game that day. His 87.3 passer rating(255 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT) was better than any he has had in any season.
But win it, no.
David Tyree made an incredible catch on a poorly thrown pass. The Giants pass rush was great and held one of the NFL's top offenses to 14 points.
The Giants have depth at every position and could easy carry on without any player, including Manning. David Carr's passer rating is only a few points below Eli's. They have a running game that has carried the team often and one of the best O-lines.
They would never even notice Eli was gone.
He's just average, that's all.

I totally agree. The defence kept them in that game and a lucky catch gave them the opportunity to win. Eli is not even an average QB imo. He was only a #1 pick because of his name not any ability because that is so lacking
