Manning Agrees To Huge Contract

Eli Manning has agreed to a new six-year, $97 million contract extension with the New York Giants that will make him the highest paid player in the NFL with an average salary of roughly $15.3 million.

A person close to the talks who asked not to be identified says Manning is guaranteed $35 million under the deal that will keep him with the Giants through the 2015 season. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal was not signed and had not been announced.

Holy crap, throwing all your eggs into the Eli basket which good, he's a solid maybe very good QB, but he's not worse this kind of money, honestly no one is, but even but current NFL terms Eli is no where near worth this. Eli is a solid QB, this kind of money should only be give to Tom Brady and Petyon Manning, maybe Drew Brees. Eli isn't great. We've seen flashes, (i. e. the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl two years ago) But ever since then he's been just average, solid at best. I wouldn't give him all this money

I can't really understand why he was given all this money. It just doesn't make sense to me. I think he is pretty good, like you said he has his moments. $97 million? I don't think so. But I guess that's why I'm not a GM right?
