As we first reported, linebacker Dan Morgan is serious about playing football again after retiring last year following a string of concussions as well as some family issues.
Morgan confirmed to ESPN.com’s Pat Yasinkas on Monday that he has filed his reinstatement papers with the NFL and plans to play for the New Orleans Saints who are apparently interested in him and have held onto his rights.
A former Carolina Panthers first-round draft pick from the University of Miami, Morgan has had at least five reported concussions as well as a broken leg since being drafted in 2001.
Yet, Morgan said he has a clean hill of health now.
“Yes, I know I’ve had some concussions. But I think the public has kind of blown that out of proportion. They don’t know my exact situation. My concussions weren’t severe. I never had the bad headaches or the memory loss that they talk about in those studies. I’ve seen all those studies and talked about them at length with my doctors and I feel good about the situation.”

Does this guy have anything to give the Saints.

And is he dumb for thinking he can give it a shot after all those concussions ?

I guess so. At least that is what Morgan says.
