Reggie Bush holdout

Things look pretty dire for the New Orleans Saints right now. The team and first-round pick Reggie Bush are light years apart on a contract, and not only is Bush threatening a holdout, but Yahoo! Sports is reporting that he is willing to sit out the entire season and re-enter the NFL Draft in 2007 if he doesn't get what he wants. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on THIS!

Its a game...The Saints put their foot in their mouth on this, and Bush will leverage it for all he can get...The Saints have little choice...they will sign him...or they will lose a whopping fan base buying a bunch of season tickets...

Sadly, I think you're right. Its like I read yesterday (can't remember where though): No player in NFL history has had the kind of leverage that Reggie Bush does right now. The Saints need him a hell of a lot more than he needs the Saints.

Reggie Bush would feel comfortable playing anywhere there is money.

He is no different than anyone else....If I had leverage on my company to get a multimillion dollar deal to go my way, I would take it.

Re: Reggie Bush holdout

Bush failed to report for the start of training camp, officially beginning his holdout.

According to an AP report, "Neither Saints general manager Mickey Loomis nor Bush's agent, Joel Segal, would comment specifically on negotiations concerning the Heisman Trophy winner. Loomis has said recently that negotiations with Bush are running a 'normal' course... Because Bush likely would have been the No. 1 choice for a number of teams other than Houston, he could be looking for a contract at least as valuable as Williams' deal."

He'll get his money. But how long will all this take to play out, you think?
