Re: Saints may sue New Orleans

Strange story - because Hurricane Katrina forced the Saints out of the city of New Orleans, city officials are claiming they will only need to pay $2.5 million of the schedule $15 million contractually owed the franchise. Team officials have declined to say whether or not they will accept the reduced payments, which likely means they are considering legal action. This could get ugly from the looks of it.

Give the Saints what they are due...maybe they can give it to them in Hurricane Relief Credit Cards...they have been used for such unauthorized things as vacations and sex change operations...why not pay off the Saints with them?

Re: Saints may sue New Orleans

Pay the Saints???? Sue the city??? A city that just left millions homeless??? Oh but most of that was used for booze and sex right by officials? Typical. This is why I dont celebrate the 4th of July. America is too corrupt to even exist anymore and heres my prediction...in 30-50 years there will be no USA. And justice will be served.

Well, everything else aside, what it basically comes down to is the contract between the city and the franchise. If the language of the contract allows New Orleans to adjust the fee based on how much actual time the team spends in the city, then so be it. Of course, the classy thing for the Saints to do would be to forgive the debt like the Hornets did.

Football is a business...If I was owed that much on a business in which I have share holders wanting thier cut, I couldn't forgive the debt...that's why God created lawyers...err...okay, that's a man made thing...but you get the gist...
