NEW ORLEANS Reggie Bush went through his first complete practice as an N-F-L player today when the New Orleans Saints began a three-day minicamp.
Bush was wearing Number 25 instead of his familiar Number Five. The N-F-L denied his petition last month to wear the single digit. It's not among the numbers designated for running backs.
Bush, who was hobbled by a strained hamstring during rookie minicamp earlier, split time with former Pro Bowl running back Deuce McAllister, who's coming off knee surgery last season.
Bush looked fluid and comfortable. He says his leg feels good and he was able to run around and do the things he couldn't do in the rookie camp.
He says he had no problems with the Saints' plays. At U-S-C, he says they ran a pro-style offense and the coaches prepared them for the N-F-L so everything is kind of coming naturally to him.

Looks like Bush is starting to coem around...What kind of work load wil lbe see the Saints give him in the Pre-season?

Probably no more than 10 touches a game in the preseason. Don't want to wear him out too fast, you know!

I think they will have to split the carries this pre-season and season between Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush. As Lefty Noob added, you don't want to wear him out too fast. I think they will start off with McAllister as their prime RB this season and weave Reggie Bush into the #1 spot. Deuce McAllister will stay locked up with his multi-million dollar contract until 2007. That is two more years of having two big-money RBs!
