RB Deuce McAllister discusses his health

Now that its clear McAllister remain a Saint, he wants to make it clear that he will run as well as he ever did before surgery on both knees last season.
His contract was restructured which freed the team from paying him a $1 million roster bonus while still allowing McAllister to earn the money by performance incentives.
He is able to run, but not full speed. He says no setbacks, just the normal stiffness and soreness.
He will be limited in mini camp, plans to be close to 100% at training camp, and definitely 100% by the start of the regular season.
"I plan to be the same as I always was. I want to be able to get 20+ yards," said McAllister.

The Canadian Press: Saints running back Deuce McAllister discusses his health, future in football

I dont think he will ever be the same as he was. Agree? or Not?

Re: RB Deuce McAllister discusses his health

i believe mcallister can be just as good as he was before surgery. he's a big runner, who has quickness and speed, and runs with heart. the saints offense also benefits him. a quarterback like Brees will be so good in the passing department that running lanes will open up for the deuce. plus, being a tandem with reggie bush also helps. defenses will be so worried about containing the outside and big plays with reggie that mcallister will be able to run off 7 or 8 yards a crack up the middle. but for this to be possible, both backs need to be healthy and on the field at the same time. if the saints can get some defense in the draft, they have a chance to be a superbowl contender.

Bette, do I even need to say it?

Comeback.

Player.

Year.

He will be back. He will be 100%. There's no doubt about it.

Trust me on this one, folks. I'm looking for 1,400 yards and 10-12 TDs out of Deuce in 2008.

ha ha actually I was looking forward to you saying it. Next year one of us is going to be looking kind of silly about this matter. I promise not to laugh too hard.

Don't worry, if I'm wrong, I'm willing to take my lumps. But I won't be wrong.
