JACKSON, Miss. -- Reggie Bush was happy just to take handoffs and catch passes from Drew Brees on Saturday morning.

On the field, it's all business between the New Orleans Saints' second-year running back and the club's Pro Bowl quarterback. Off the field, Brees is -- borrowing a phrase from Wally Cleaver here -- busy giving Bush the business.

"I'm just glad to have him off those commercial shoots and have him here in camp with us," Brees joked during a press conference Friday at the Saints' training camp on the Millsaps College campus.

Bush spent the offseason training, shooting ads and courting famous music artists and Hollywood starlets in Los Angeles. He reported to camp in tip-top shape, but Brees was still able to joke with his partner in offensive terror about Bush's newfound relationship with soccer star David Beckham and Beck's wife, Victoria, better known as Posh.

Bush laughed at Brees' good-natured ribbing. He knew it was coming, but as he's made it very clear in the early days of Saints camp, Bush's mind is off the glitz and glamour and squarely on playing championship football.

Bush has definitely been in the limelight a lot this offseason. I always wonder if that's a good thing, especially for a rook. If there's a sophomore jinx this year for the former USC star, I've got to figure that all the public appearances and Subway commercials have a lot to do with it. The endorsements will be there, kid. You don't need to get 'em all after year one.
